Grooved Paddle

Inspired by a bit of "Better Homes and Gardens" handicraft, this paddle is made from a piece of Merbau decking timber. This means that it's flat on one side, but has deep grooves on the other side.

The total length is 43cm (13cm of this is handle) and is 9cm wide and 19mm thick. It's pretty heavy though, weighing in at over 4.2kg!

The paddle has been shaped, sanded (splinters are not our friends), oiled for that rich colour, then finished with a hard wax finish - the same as antique furniture.
